LACTATION & BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT
Together, we will unpack your birth story and feeding journey so far. I will be there to listen as you share your experiences, starting from the very first feed until now. Understanding your past can help us create a plan for the future.
I will support and respect your feeding goals and choices, guiding you towards achieving them. Whether you choose exclusive breastfeeding, a combination of feeding methods, or transitioning to weaning, I am here to provide assistance and encouragement.
A comprehensive lactation assessment will be conducted, including observing a full feed, making immediate adjustments to improve positioning and latching, examining breast anatomy, assessing infant oral function, and monitoring weight. This assessment will help us develop a personalised plan for you and your baby.
We will work together to create and update realistic feeding plans that can adapt to the dynamic nature of breastfeeding. I will stay in touch with you regularly, making adjustments as needed over the next 14 days.
Your mental health and wellbeing is a priority, and I will support you in recognising and addressing any perinatal mental health concerns. Resources and options will be provided to ensure you feel supported and cared for throughout your mothering journey.
I will educate you on the intricacies of breastfeeding, helping you understand the biological processes at play. By learning about feeding habits, hormonal influences, growth spurts, and normal baby behaviour, you can navigate breastfeeding with greater ease and acceptance.
As your baby grows and feeding patterns change, I will assist you in understanding and adapting to these transitions. I will also provide guidance on returning to work, including pumping, milk storage, bottle feeding, and weaning strategies as needed.
If breastfeeding does not go as planned, I will support you through any grief or disappointment. Together, we will explore alternative feeding options and find peace in understanding the reasons behind any challenges.
NDC SLEEP SUPPORT
Struggling with your baby's sleep problems can take a toll on your family and mental well-being, but traditional sleep training methods just don't sit well with you.
At Nurture and Nourish Lactation, my approach revolves around nurturing parenting techniques and strengthening the bond between parent and baby. By utilising the Possums method for addressing infant sleep, feeding, and crying issues, I will collaborate with you to enhance your baby's sleep patterns while also increasing your overall joy in motherhood.
Research underscores the significance of meeting your baby's needs for their optimal neurodevelopment. Rest assured, this service does not involve letting your baby cry it out or endure distress. My goal is to assist you in making your days more manageable and enjoyable, all while enhancing your baby's sleep patterns. Say goodbye to rigid schedules and tears.

Calmbirth Safeguarding Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Before, During, and After Birth.
“A woman experiences her best birthing journey when she feels SAFE, UNDISTURBED, and RESPECTED. Calmbirth is dedicated to educating and enhancing birthing outcomes for all women and their families, addressing both physical and emotional aspects of the experience.” Karen McKay
Recognised as one of the pioneering childbirth education programs, Calmbirth is evidence-based, with clinical and scientific validation that demonstrates its effectiveness in:
- Decreasing the incidence of medical interventions
- Reducing the reliance on pain relief and epidurals during labour
- Alleviating the effects of perinatal anxiety and postnatal depression in women after childbirth
- Enhancing the overall birth experience positively, regardless of the birthing method.
Calmbirth is the first antenatal program implemented in major maternity hospitals throughout New South Wales.
Calmbirth delves into the intricate mind-body connection, looking at how pregnancy, labour, and birth hormones work in harmony to empower the female body to nurture new life and facilitate childbirth at any stage. Its growing popularity stems from the desire of today’s women and couples to take control of their bodies and learn practical ways to nurture their unborn child, extending beyond labour into the prenatal weeks. They seek to participate actively in their care rather than passive recipients—an approach that Calmbirth actively promotes.
